Now almost consigned to the pages of history (you might be lucky to spot one in some areas of Tokyo) these neighborhood stores stock dango sweets colorful Japanese dumplings made from rice.

 

This paper model kit gives you a chance to assemble this icon from a bygone Tokyo. The detail is remarkable from the shop sign and tiled roof to the dango displays complete with price tags. There's even a nod to the new symbol of the Katsushika east Tokyo area the Skytree which is helping revive this old part of the city again.
